Your Hormones and Metabolism aren’t holding you back
Hormones and age-related metabolism changes get blamed for weight gain all the time. While people do tend to get heavier as they get older, it is unlikely to be related to big metabolic changes or hormone differences. The good and bad news is that this weight gain is probably related to behavior changes! Moving less, exercising less, losing muscle mass over time all lead to reductions in daily calorie burn as we age. The upside is that this means you have the power to change––moving more, lifting, and making different food choices can get rid of most of the issues causing weight gain as we get older!
