FAQ

Who is this cookbook intended for?

Something Sweet is intended for folks who love sweets, or love making sweets for others – but want to be able to enjoy sweet flavors without having to feel guilty about eating a bunch of ingredients that aren’t good for them.  If you love sweets and want to know the ingredients and macros in what you’re eating and be able to feel good about them, this cookbook is for you!

Is this eCookbook only dessert recipes? Are the recipes easily incorporated with my RP template?

Check out the TOC pictured above, far left – along with 2 sample recipes!  Something Sweet is a sweets themed eCookbook – so you aren’t going to find any chicken or beef recipes in it.  You’ll find everything from muffins and cookies, pie and cakes, to puddings and parfaits.  While some recipes are made up 100% of RP template foods, many of the recipes would not be best while on a strict fat loss diet – as they contain ingredients like coconut oil, beet sugar, cacoa nibs, etc.  Totally fine to indulge while maintaining, or certainly while gaining muscle.  There are true special occasion recipes in the book as well – certainly not foods intended to be eaten every day!

Bottom line – RP is a lifestyle, and for most of us, sweets is a wonderful part of life!

What types of ingredients are used in the recipes?

I’ve listed the less common ingredients here:

Brown rice syrup – a great mild replacement for a thick sweetener like honey, it’s made 100% of brown rice, so totally RP approved.  You can find it on amazon, and at most “healthy” grocery stores, in the baking aisle.

Whole grain pastry flour, spelt flour – whole grain flours, can be found at most “healthy” grocery stores and online.

Beet sugar, coconut sugar – sugar alternatives – can be found at most “healthy” grocery stores, and online. (Admittedly, plenty of debate as to whether or not these alternatives are better than cane sugar.  Certainly not an RP approved ingredient, which is why these recipes aren’t meant for every day fat loss, but while maintaining or muscle gain!)

Date sugar – very interesting ingredient as it can be used as an alternative to sugar, but it is actually just ground up dates.  It’s lower in carbs, but you can’t just swap it 1:1 for any recipe for sugar.  You’ll need to experiment with it as it does have, in my opinion, a pretty strong and “earthy” flavor profile, not a good match in all recipes.

Coconut oil – Please note that coconut oil is high in saturated fats, so it’s not recommended by RP for frequent consumption.  You'll see that I use it in a lot of the recipes in this book, because, well, it’s a really tasty fat, and a lot of these recipes aren’t meant for every day!

Lakanto – monkfruit sweetener – comes in white/brown dried and a liquid version.  I buy mine online.  It’s another sugar replacement.

Flavor emulsions – highly concentrated flavorings.  Some are designed specifically for cold or frozen dishes, while others are okay being heated in a recipe.  You can find these online.

SF syrups – there are a few brands out there, I tend to use Torani the most.

SF pancake syrup – different from SF syrup in my recipes!  I usually use whatever I find in my main grocery store.

Avocado mayo (regular and spicy versions) – store bought.

Cacao and cacao nibs – healthier, but less sweet chocolate alternatives – can be found at most “healthy” grocery stores, in the baking aisle.

I don’t use:

Butter, cane sugar, straight Stevia, white flour, honey, chocolate or chocolate chips

Are these all-new recipes?

Something Sweet is made up of 50 exciting and decadent recipes not found among the 200 recipes from the previous 2 RP cookbooks, The Renaissance Kitchen and The Renaissance Feast. Please note that 15 of these recipes are also in our RP+ premium membership.

If you are a member of RP+, you will recognize 15 of the recipes in this book as they are also currently available in the recipe database within RP+.

If you are not a member of RP+, these will probably be all new recipes to you!  (There are a couple of my recipes that have been published elsewhere.)

Do any of the recipes include enough protein to potentially serve as a complete meal option?

Yes, 14 of the recipes contain enough protein to potentially meet your needs for a complete meal.

Can I get a paper copy?

Since this is only 50 recipes, it’s really too small to work well printed and bound by our on demand printer, so we are only offering the eBook version.

Do you offer refunds?

There are no refunds on our eBooks. All sales are final.
